Summary: DECthreads and dxbook

Thanks to those who responded. (Sorry, my system is desparately low on
user disk storage, and I could not keep old messages around very long.)

My original problem was that I was unable to read the DECW_books on
Guide to DECthreads with messages of lack of proper license. One such
message complained about not having a license for VAX/VMS, when the
system I was reading on was a 3000/500 AXP with OSF/1 1.3A, and the disc
I was trying to read was the distribution CDROM for the same OSF/1 1.3A.

I haven't really found an answer yet, but a kind member of this list
sent me a PS copy of the book, and I can now make my own copies.

Another gentleman said that I needed a license for dxbook. I'm not sure
about this, since I'm able to use dxbook to read other documents, such
as OSF/1 documentations, as well as docs for other licensed products for
which I had purchased licenses.

The immediate symptom (not having a readable copy of an electronic doc of
DECthreads) has been solved, but I still have the problem with dxbook not
allowing me to read the DECW_book version, claiming insufficient
licensing. Again, I'd still like to know if (and why) the DECW_book of
DECthreads is a licensed product.

thanks again to those who responded.
