Automatic login problem with IMAP

Dear managers,

We are using the IMAP protocol and ML / PINE software to handle e-mail on our
system. Since a user could be using any X-station or text terminal on any given
day, we have allowed automatic authentication for IMAP by creating the link
/etc/rimapd as specified in the docs.

The problem is that, while this works perfectly for most users, I have a couple
of users that have to enter a username and password. Even more confusing, the
system used to work for them.

I have checked everything I can think of - .rhosts, file and directory access
privileges, ownership, groups are all normal. Any ideas as to what I have
missed?

Thanks in advance
Pillaiyar
