Strange entry in my user directories

Hello All --

I'm running OSF V2.0 on a Alpha 3300. A number of my users directories
have an entry in them that I can't figure out how to get rid of. I don't
know how it got there for that matter. If I do an ls -l on certain user
directories I see the following file listed:

drwx-r-xr-x1472 mcmurphy users 26112 Sep 11 18:22 ..

It shows up in my users home directories, i.e. /usr/users/smith,
/usr/users/jones...

How can I get rid of this?
