Hello All,

My questions were:

>When I grep for all the root processes, I notice only telnetd and
>rlogind are running based on the internet services specified in
>the inetd.conf.
>
>My understanding is that just as long as inetd is running, it will
>invoke other internet daemons when a request has been made, reducing
>load on the system, and they disappear once the program(s) is finnished.
>Is this correct?
>
>At which point can I see one of the daemons such as rshd, ftpd,
>rexecd, etc. running, for example? Should they be running at all as
>root?

The statement I indicated above is correct, and some daemons run as
root and some as the user.
