How to boot OSF1 up from a partition other than 'a' partition?

Hi, Everyone,

I built an external system disk and used partition 'e' and 'f' for / and /usr.
Now my problem is I don't known how and where to tell the system to use partition 'e' and
'f' for / and /usr to boot up. Could someone tell me
what I need to do to boot the system up?

I final objective is to install two copies of OS on the same disk so that I can
boot the system up from any one of the OS copies. (the two copies of OS are
the same verion). I'd like to be able to do the following, while the system
is boot up on one copy (say using partition 'a' and 'g' for / and /usr), I may
simply run a script which will prepare everythine so that after I shutdown the
system, I can boot it up using the second copy of the OS which is on 'e' and
'f' partition.

I don't know if this is possible to do. Any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance.
