Hi,

One of our users has a tar DAT tape, which is believed
to be damaged on the tape header. Is there any way
one can restore the remaining contents of the tape?

The DAT tape was written using tar to a TTI DAT drive
attached to an Alpha 3000/300 running OSF/1 V2.0.

I did try using # mt fsf 1

to try to skip to the next file, but it reports reaching
the end of the device.

If I do # mt fsf 2
or # mt fsf 3
it complains an I/O error.

Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Regards,
Peter Chiu
