Netscape 1.12 dumps core under OSF/1 on AXP

The version of netscape I've been running (1.0N) is rather old, so
I decided to grab 1.12 for the DEC Alpha I generally use. Much to
my disappointment, it dumps core. Right at startup, it puts up a
window labeled "Netscape: Question" (nothing in the window, though)
which stays up for a half second or so, then disappears. And then,
bingo, "Memory fault - core dumped". This happens under both v3.0
and v3.2 of OSF/1. Presumably there are folks running this version
of netscape under OSF/1 on the Alpha (or are there?). I tried all
the obvious things (e.g., trying both with and without the version
of XKeysymDB which came with 1.12, with and without their supplied
app-defaults file, and so forth). Any suggestions? Or is it just
a known bug?

PS: I did notice that the compressed tar archive for 1.12 is named
"netscape-v112-export.alpha-dec-osf2.0.tar.Z", but I'd assume that
it ought to run just as well under OSF/1 v3. (At least, 1.0N runs
equally well under v3 as it did under v2.)
