[Q] DEC Migrate problems + CDE woes

Hello Managers,

Context : Digital Unix 3.2A
          AlphaServers 2100 4/275 or DecStation 3000/600
DEC Migrate (mx + mxr) version 1.2

Problem : Beginning with 3.2, I have some problems with 2
programs migrated from MIPS/Ultrix binary code with mx.
One is the (*SHAME ON DIGITAL*) OSF-forgotten "dxue" and the
other is home brewed.

1st problem : NIS (YP) name resolution is not performed
DNS (BIND) name resolution works well
I have "hosts : local,yp,bind" in my /etc/svc.conf file.
Exemple : mx'ed dxue do not work on a X terminal unless this terminal
is *explicitely* put in local /etc/hosts (it is of course declared
in NIS hosts file).

2nd problem : no access to local home directories but ok on
              auto-mounted directories !
Exemple : 2 machines : alpha and beta and a user : lambda
lambda's home directory is /usr/alpha/lambda

When lambda logs from alpha : no access to /usr/alpha/lambda
(dxue crashes).

When lambda logs from beta : access ok to /tmp_mnt/usr/joker/lambda
through the automount mechanism (in NIS passwd file, every user zone
is declared as /usr/joker/<user name> and the actual zone
/usr/<home machine>/<user name> is mapped with NIS auto.home file).

Any help appreciated, I know that CDE's file manager is *THE* solution
but I was very deceived with 3.5 release of CDE (bundled to 3.2C).
I think that CDE is still too buggy. I have to wait for 4.0 !

On this topic : anyone who could give me the list of bug corrected
from CDE 1.0 ADK (DUNIX 3.2A) to CDE 3.5 ADK (DUNIX 3.2C) is *WARMLY*
welcome !!! I fear that this list is ... /dev/null :-(

Regards,
