SUMMARY: top

Thanks to everyone who responded. Most pointed out that the latest version of
top (currently 3.3) can always be downloaded via anonymous ftp from
eecs.nwu.edu in the directory /pub/top. I've installed it and it is
wonderful! FYI, I was also pointed to a couple of other performance
monitoring tools:

vmubc on ftp://gatekeeper.dec.com/pub/DEC/vmubc.tar.Z
monitor on ftp://gatekeeper.dec.com/pub/DEC/monitor.alpha.Z
         on ftp://gatekeeper.dec.com/pub/DEC/monitor.tar.Z
