NFS file handles and CPU id

Good morning/afternoon/evening whatsoever !

I have two questions regarding Dec Unix, one is related to NFS and the other
to CPU id.

1. How much can be done on an Alpha in terms of kernel reconfiguration etc.
before NFS clients get the infamous 'stale NFS file handles' ??
The reason I ask is that last weekend we did two 'installupdate' from
3.0->3.2C and all the clients got stale file handles requiring a lot of
extra work remounting/rebooting. We have done kernel fixes before avoiding
   this trouble.

2. If I do a 'sizer -c' on one of our Alphas I get

        cpu "DEC3000_500"

   but when I do 'uerf -Rr 300|grep DEC3000|sort -u' I get

        DEC3000 - M600 system

I need to know which output is the correct as I'm going to upgrade
firmware before upgrading/installing to 3.2C. Should I upgrade firmware
according to 'sizer' or according to 'uerf' ??
