Hello managers,
I've got 2 problems with Performance Monitor V1.4A
under DU 3.2C (the first one did not appear in V3.2A).
1) Unable to start correctly the pmd daemon (although other pmd
daemons on remote machines work well).
Message: CPU strip not supported on <the 3.2C node>
Content of /usr/var/opt/fullsail/PM/log is :
Wed Oct 25 14:03:23 MET 1995|alpha.cad.cea.fr||root
error|DC_ERROR_NLIST_INVALID_NAME|dc_private_seek1.c|line 1841
Kernel namelist name not valid: _vm_page_wire_count
Note:
vmubc works well though not re-compiled from 3.2A to 3.2C and
it accesses also the kernel ?!?
2) On a Sun 670MP with 2 processors under Solaris 5.3
CPU strip shows as much as 19 CPU's numbered 13 to 31 !!!
(uname -a : SunOS mira 5.3 Generic_101318-70 sun4m sparc)
Since Digital intention is certainly not to furtherly widen the gap
between installed Sparcs vs Alphas, there should be a bug ... ;-)
Note:
we have also a Sparc Station 10 where PM works perfectly well
(uname -a : SunOS mizar 5.3 Generic_101318-70 sun4m sparc)
If you know of a patch or explanation, let me know.
Regards,
