Hello D.U.M. ! (today is SUMMARY day ;-)
This is a follow-up of my 18th October's :
<< SUMMARY: DEC Migrate problems (HALF SOLVED) >>
Thanks to
Richard Gorton (Project Leader: mx & FreePort Express)
<gorton_at_tallis.enet.dec.com>
my problem is now completely solved.
He sent me along with the new mx (which solved the NIS resolution
problem), brand new libmxr.so and mxr as well (which in turn solved
the "no AdvFs browsing" problem).
So I have a fully renewed set of DEC migrate binaries in
uuencoded form and it works well.
The checksums are :
OLD VERSION (DMG 1.2)
# cksum /usr/bin/mx.dist
280764991 1916928 /usr/bin/mx
# cksum /usr/bin/mxr.dist
2632249324 589824 /usr/bin/mxr
# cksum /usr/shlib/libmxr.so.dist
3898829162 981247 /usr/shlib/libmxr.so
NEW VERSION (DMG 1.2-1)
alpha.cad.cea.fr# cksum /usr/bin/mx
1101192168 1916928 /usr/bin/mx <-- WARNING, SAME SIZE !
alpha.cad.cea.fr# cksum /usr/bin/mxr
3602409340 614400 /usr/bin/mxr
alpha.cad.cea.fr# cksum /usr/shlib/libmxr.so
1839292284 376832 /usr/shlib/libmxr.so
These guys at Freeport do some kind of astonishing job to me :
translating a code to another OS *AND* another architecture,
and it works !!!
Hope this can helps other "migrators" around there,
Regards,
