Hi folks..
We're having a problem with our news server hanging apparantly because of
stuck TCP connections. Here's what netstat shows:
tcp 0 0 167.142.225.5.119 164.124.101.2.34558 SYN_RCVD
tcp 0 0 167.142.225.5.119 164.124.101.2.34556 SYN_RCVD
tcp 0 0 167.142.225.5.119 164.124.101.2.34541 SYN_RCVD
tcp 0 0 167.142.225.5.119 164.124.101.2.34538 SYN_RCVD
tcp 0 0 167.142.225.5.119 164.124.101.2.34539 SYN_RCVD
tcp 0 0 167.142.225.5.119 164.124.101.2.34537 SYN_RCVD
tcp 0 0 167.142.225.5.119 164.124.101.2.34516 SYN_RCVD
tcp 0 0 167.142.225.5.119 164.124.101.2.34515 SYN_RCVD
It looks like a router between here and 164.124.101.2 is flapping up and down,
which is causing this. Apparently 8 connections is the maximum that innd
will listen for on that port.
Is there anything we can do besides firewall that IP in our router to fix this?
