Stand-in for crypt

Hi All,

This question is aimed more towards those of a non-American location.
Since the crypt routine is not allowed to leave the US, is there a
legal version for out of the states? Ideally, I'd prefer a version
that acts like the original, i.e. encrypts and decrypts on a given
key.

Many thanks,
Lyn
