Some time back I posted a plea for help with using AdvFS on my news
spool. We take a full feed (around 16,000 groups), averaging around
1 to 1.5 million files in the spool at any one time.
The overwhelming response from this list was "don't even bother".
After several disasterous experiences with AdvFS on the spool,
I heartily agree. Don't run AdvFS on your news spools!
Incidently, Digital's tech support Quote of The Day was ...
"How many files???!!! Hmmm ... we've never done that. Let us know
how you get on".
