Unfortunately, I've had no responses since I posted the query below on the
15th. Searches of the archives (which were actually done prior to posting the
query) also turned up no useful information. I will note (as I probably should
have in my original query) that while the "make test" verification of tripwire
is suspect (produces inconsistent results) under 3.2C, the actual software
does appear to detect accesses and modifications reliably.
