Hello Folks,

Ive just managed to obtain the documentation
for V1.0 of the above product from my local
        DEC people.

The product is based on Kerberos V and emerged
        from Digital's DECathena product.(I think)

Is anyone using or evaluating this?

I would be interested in any observations
        or comments.

We had originally intended to use NIS and C2
but this is a non-starter as in a C2 environment
you need the NIS master to be up ALL the time
in order to get the C2-required updates to the
protected password file.(Yes : if the master is down
all logins to slaves or clients will fail - yes :
this is a single point of failure in your distributed
        environment)

        Thanks.

Paddy
