Hi Fellow Admins,
I keep getting the following error messages during backups (I use
dump) on my Alpha 3000/300 - OSF3.2a:
dump: Date of this level 0 dump: Thu Dec 07 23:43:21 1995 EST
dump: Date of last level 0 dump: the start of the epoch
dump: Dumping /dev/rrz0a (/) to standard output
dump: Cannot get semaphores
get_semaphore(): semget() for fifo_free_semid: No space left on device
dump: SIGTERM received -- Try rewriting
dump: Unexpected signal -- cannot recover
dump: Cannot remove semaphores
remove_semaphore(): semctl() for fifo_free_semid: Invalid argument
dump: Cannot remove shared memory
remove_shared_memory(): shmctl(): Invalid argument
dump: SIGTERM received -- Try rewriting
dump: Unexpected signal -- cannot recover

0+0 records out
The backups go along fine for a while, sometimes several weeks, sometimes
for only a few filesystems before this error occurs. Once it's happened,
the only way to fix things (that I have found) is to reset the machine.
Has anyone seen anything like this before? Have any suggestions?
Many thanks.
Lyn
