Hi,
A few days ago I asked ;
Today I met with a nasty thing. when I try to telnet to a local host
( via 10 Mbit thick ethernet ) the login: command comes too late !
abviously this is not a good thing. Also rlogin, rcp vs. similarly
extremely slow. Do you have any idea ??
( Yesterday night I changed user disk, but I think this not related to that?)
sincerely.
murat.
ps* I use 3.2 and patched telnet daemon of DEC.

Most of them advised me look to DNS or NIS related things ( surely this
is most reasonable thing ) . But I think this was not the problem,
because even if I give numeric IP. I wait too logn, also
t/usr/users/staff/balci/mail>telnet alsancak
Trying 155.223.80.5...
Connected to alsancak.ege.edu.tr.
Escape character is '^]'.
prompt comes immediately, but
OSF/1 (alsancak.ege.edu.tr) (ttyp2)
login: balci
Password:
prompt comes too late !
anyway, as it occured strangely, it solved in the same manner ! yesterday
I found it working properly :) Thanx to all.
Sincerely.
murat.
