My Original Questions:
>1.) Are the Alpha 2000 model 300 machines capable of four (4) or more
>network cards with different network addresses? If yes, how is this done?
>What are the steps that might be considered to implement this one?
One of the respondents, responded that two cards were installed on their
system, however details of the setup were not discussed.
However, I am hopeful that someone in the list might be able to share
with regards to such kind of setup.
>2.) Does someone know of a restricted shell that is compatible with
>Digital UNIX, just like the ones found on other systems?
Most suggested the use of Rsh, however Bob Wier's suggestion somewhat
caught my attention and here it goes..

We use OSH - works great on our 3000/600s running v2.0, assuming you
are looking for some kind of shell allowing access to only some commands...

6/15/94 Operator Shell (osh) README
This is the Operator Shell. Read the file "INSTALL" for installation
instructions. A copy of the paper I submitted to SANS III is *extremely*
helpful in configuring Osh. You can obtain it from:
ftp.c3.lanl.gov:/pub/mcn/osh.sansIII.ps
There's also a WWW page devoted to Osh:
http://www.c3.lanl.gov/~mcn/osh.html
Be *VERY* careful if you decide to use osadmin. It has a habit of deleting
tables. :-)
I've since left Los Alamos to start my own Computer Security consulting
company. You can still reach me at: mcn_at_lanl.gov, or mcn_at_EnGarde.com.
