Hello all,
I have been fighting XEmacs on the alphas for the past week
and cannot get it to work reliably.
So far I have compiled it with both gcc 2.7.2 and DEC's own
cc on OSF/1 3.2c. The problems I am seeing do not exist on Suns
running SunOS 4.1.3_U1 and Irix.
Problems:
o speed: slow as hell, cannot keep up with typing,
o Some elisp byte-compiles incorrectly,
o Some elisp is actually _evaluated_ incorrectly (char-equal)
None of this happens under SunOS. I have the 3.2c patch for 19.13.
I was also looking for the XEmacs pages for DEC but have lost the
address.
Any suggestions/pointers will be welcome.
Thanks,
Arrigo
