Dear managers,
I was pleasantly surprised by the number of reactions I received on my
2 questions, which I posted last friday. I got more as 20 responses.. so
thanks again all!
All the answers suggested to download the mtools package which is
available at the gnu-sites to be able to write/read on msdog-discs.
My other question, on what /dev/nmrt[almh] means, many people suggested
to read man tz and man mtio. Those man-pages did describe what I needed...
Thanks for your fast replies!
Christophe.

Subject: [Q] reading msdog-discs
Dear managers,
I have two probably easy questions for you all.
1) What is the easiest way to read msdog-discs, if it is possible anyway?
2) Where can I find out what the following device files mean? Why are
there so much and what does each file mean?
/dev/nrmt0a /dev/nrmt0l /dev/rmt0a /dev/rmt0l
/dev/nrmt0h /dev/nrmt0m /dev/rmt0h /dev/rmt0m
I know that n* mean non-rewinding, and the others are rewinding tapes.
I'm still trying to find out what the *[almh] mean.
Thanks.
Christophe
