vsnprintf on DU 3.2a? (wu-ftpd 2.4.2-beta-8)

I'm trying to make wu-ftpd 2.4.2-beta-8 on a DU 3.2a machine, but the
source is looking for a routine called "vsnprintf" (which appears to be
something out of BSD4.4) that I don't have.

Has anyone gotten around this?
