Login problems.

I have some serious login problems on DEC Alpha 4610 (DU v3.2).
Nobody (including 'root') can't login to system, either via network or
system console. When users enter their account code and the corrected
password. The system shows their last login time, then return to the login
prompt imediately.
I tried to investigated the problems and found that when I run a
born-shell script that executes 'chown -R' many times, all file and
directory owner were changed to 'nobody'. So, I use 'ps -ef' to show
current running processes and found that no even a running process (or it
have but do not show). I can telnet to the system but can't login
(including 'root' at system console).
The contents of the script as the following:

        #!/bin/sh
        chown -R cctho /home/cc/cctho
        chown -R ccwad /home/cc/ccwad
                .
                .
                .
                .
        chown -R u3770507 /shome/usc/u3770507

There are more than 2000 lines of 'chown -R' in the script.
Why it was happened? If it is a bug in DU, is there a patch
program?

Thank you.
