Bonjour a tous,
Has anyone experienced strange behaviour with DECsafe ASE 1.3 when
doing "rcinet restart" ??? My configuration is the following :
Three alphaservers 8400, running DU 3.2d. All three are interfaced
with KZPSA serving 4 HSZ40 on shared SCSI busses. There is three Ethernet
interfaces and one FDDI card. One of the Ethernet card is used as a local ASE
network (i.e. there is nobody else than the 3 8400 on that network). All
network interfaces are monitored by ASE.
ASE doesn't seems to like network interruption on any of the server.
If I do a rcinet restart on a server not offering any service, the IP address
of the active service, which is on a separate server, stops responding to
pings.
It happenned especially while changing FDDI cables on the two inactive
members of the ASE cluster. On top of that, the local ASE network became
unusable. Result : REBOOT THE THREE SERVERS !!! Not something I want to see
in production.
Any tip would be welcomed, and a summary will follow.
Thanks,
