We have problems connecting an external Micropolis 1936 to a Alphastation
600. Assuming the three different cables and the two external terminators we
have tried are not all corrupt I have to look elsewhere. The disk just don't
show up when doing a 'sho dev' in SRM console mode. Also, the local DEC
representative have tried getting things right but no luck just yet. I assume
he also checked the internal terminators. I have tried connecting the disk to
a SGI machine and there it showed up just fine. Do I have to perform some
tricks from the 'ecu' software or fiddle with some unknown SRM variables or
what ??
P.s We have tried to connect the disk both to the narrow and the wide bus
connectors at the back, no luck ...
System data: FIS 3.2C, Firmware revision 2.2, isp0: QLOGIC ISP1020, isp1:
QLOGIC ISP1020, language norwegian

Some additional info:
1. Tried to change SRM variables 'pka0_soft_term' and 'pkb0_soft_term' to
both on and off. The only difference seen was that the systemdisk (id 0) was
hidden (could not see any of the two devices) when we connected the disk to
pka0 with id 0 and pka0_soft_term off.
2. Tried pci_parity on/off. No difference
3. Tried bus_probe_algorithm new/old. No difference.
4. I connected the disk to an SGI Indigo, no problems. To doublecheck I even
created a filesystem on it to see if there were any errorreporting, but
everything went OK, so we can conclude that the disk/cabinet/id
setting/termination is in perfect order.
Any clues appreciated (especially from Digital personnel).
