hi all,
attempting to upgrade a AlphaServer 2100 4/200 from 3.2C to 3.2D-1 and
using firmware rev 3.4 CD. The firmware installs fine, but the ecu
(1.8) won't run properly. When you've finished going through all the
steps as documented it goes on about arc firmware, and then tries
to run cf.exe and fails, and goes back to the ecu menu. it almost
seems like the system thinks it's a NT system. I've checked the os-type
is UNIX, and done a verify on the firmware, and yes, the v1.8 ecu disk
is for VMS/OSF1 as it should be (we didn't get a new copy of the ecu with
the update anyway, and the disk had worked fine for the upgrade to v3.2c).
Now of course the system boots, but it can't see some of the devices (oh, no!)
and complains the ecu must be run, but when I run it the same thing, or
variations on a theme occur.
anyone had this happen to them and have any ideas?
thanks,
richard
