I am having a weird problem with the singleserver version of NSR.
As part of our software regression test, we load a clean copy of
Digital UNIX (in this case 3.2D-2) and the NetworkerSingleServer
subset. A new AdVFS filesystem is created on another disk and
about 50 megabytes is copied to it (cp -r /usr/lib /new-advfs-fs).
After about 50 meg gets copied, I terminate the "cp" command, and
do clone the advfs fileset. I mount the clone and back it up using
the NSR gui.
The ADVFS domain is then blown away and recreated. A link is made
from the old clone mount point to the new filesystem and I attempt to
restore the data from tape to the original location using the restore
GUI. After about 6 meg, the process is announced to be complete. Careful
examination shows a core file generated from nwrecover. The weird thing
is that if I repeat the restore (and ignore the files that already have
been restored) it then gets a little further. You can eventually complete
the restore.
I checked the archive and saw that there was an issue with /tmp space
at one time, so I created a link from my /tmp to /usr/var/tmp to allow
gobs of space. This had no effect.
I'd appreciate any ideas you might throw my way.
Thanks,
Dave
