:/etc/zoneinfo/localtime is a link pointing to your timezone. As far as
:I've understood (not much though), timezone doesn't have anything to
:do with BSD time.

        Sure enough /etc/zoneinfo/localtime was a link to ./US/Eastern .
        After changing the link to ./US/PAcific it was OK (time shifted
        3 hours).
