My most recent question was:

Thanks to Paul Tutcher <pault_at_mailhub.wpl.com> and Matt Thomas <thomas_at_lkg.dec.com>
who suggested checking ifconfig and netstat. The problem was two-fold.
First, I was a bonehead and didn't have a terminated tee connection on
the back of the machine. I only had ThinWire going directly into it.
Second, I was counting on 'ping' to tell me whether the connections were
working or not. It turns out that I can ping on the secondary network on
which my machine resides but I can't ping anything on our primary
network. I can telnet over so my network manager is checking with the
folks who sold us our router to see if they can explain this behavior.
At any rate, my AlphaStation 200 is now network-ready!
