SUMMARY: patch OSF320-214 and auth.log?

Well, a partial summary, at least. Thanks to
Jeff Finkelstein <finkels_at_jerry.alf.dec.com>, who pointed me in the right
direction, and
        Sheila Hollenbaugh <shollen_at_valhalla.cs.wright.edu>
        Woody Lee <woody_at_gergu3.tamu.edu>
        Sheila H. Franklin <sfrankl_at_.nswc.navy.mil>

It turns out that only folks who have turned on "enhanced security" are
having trouble - that's because patch 214 replaces libc.a, which the ES
stuff has munged. I'm not quite sure what the answer is yet (I'm hoping
that DEC will let me know what to do) - I'll post an addendum when we
figure it out.

What's continually frustrating is that I don't _want_ all the ES bells and
whistles - I _just_ want shadow passwords!

Original note:

After applying the OSF320-214 patch (came with the clock-fix patch),
auth.log is giving me useless SU reports:
Feb 29 11:56:24 hostname su: SU root on /dev/ttyp0

Up until this patch, it's been reporting the name of the user doing the su
        (which is what I'd want).

        Has anyone else seen this?
