We run Highland license management and that requires a hostid to node lock the
license. If you type hostid it returns a 0. However, the highland S/W has
a program called lmhostid which returns a 12 character hexadecimal number.
The man page for hostid confirms that hostid can display/set this identifier,
but if hostid returns 0 where does lmhostid get the hex number from ?
