Hi, gurus
Has anyone experienced a weird behavior with "compress" command ?. We are running compress & uncompress in DU v3.2C. The fact is that when we use it with files around 600 MB size uncompressed, the machine hangs suddenly, and all you can do is to manually halt the system. We thought about a lack of disk space in /tmp, so we linked it to /usr/tmp:
/tmp ----> /usr/tmp (/usr/tmp = 2 GB free)
BTW, /usr is created from an LSM volume (which original size was 1GB), but a volume was added to this AdvFS filesystem via addvol, so the final size is around 3GB (any problem with this mix??? (LSM & no LSM volumes within an AdvFS filesystem))
More information:
-The uncompressed file should be created on an NFS filesystem. (6GB free)
-This uncompress command is run by a user that has write access to this NFS filesystem
-We don't receive any warning or error message, we just get hung.
Any suggestions welcome.
