Summary: RZ28 disk errors

I asked about the sufficiency of cooling provided by a AS 250-4/266 for
a RZ-28 disk drive following the discovery of some disk errors due to
some inaccessible spots on a disk that had been put into service a
couple of months ago.

Thanks to the following for their quick response:

alan_at_nabeth.cxo.dec.com
guberman_at_meeker.UCAR.EDU (Steven L. Guberman)
huhman_at_rg.deere.com (Stan Huhman)

who told me that the AS 250-4/266 can be configured with higher speed
versions (implying higher power dissipation) of the RZ-28 as well as the
RZ-29 (a bigger drive, again implying greater power), so a plain old
slow (5400 rpm) RZ-28 should be able to live happily in the same
workstation as long as the workstation itself is not overheating.
Well, my workstation is not overheating, so I'll assume that the disk
just had some bad spots that showed up after initial formatting. Since
it will probably take a few days for my vendor to replace it, I'll try
reformatting it again and exercising it with SCU to see if a simple fix
can solve the problem.
