Monitors and Mirroring...

Hello Alpha Managers!

1.) My monitor is gonna be repaired due to some problems. Is it possible
to connect any SVGA monitor in an Alpha as long as it supports a 1024x768
setup? Am using a Qvision card.

2.) I have been trying to establish such setup.

        -------- --------
        Alpha 1 Alpha 2
     (DEC 2000/300) (Alphaserver 400)

Both hosts *are not* on the same place and *are connected via leased line*.

Is there a way wherein data of Alpha 1 is somewhat "mirrored" to Alpha 2
(when data is saved in Alpha 1, Alpha 2 data is also immediately updated)
and when there is Alpha 1 failure (power, hard disk crash, etc.) Alpha 2
takes over the setup and the change is somewhat transparent to the users?

If it is possible, how?

Bonn
