Q: Dirty dat drives

Hi,

I've got an HP C1553A 4mm dat drive that has always been well behaved
until now.

The "clean me" light comes on now after very little use. I'm using
new Sony 120m tapes and a Sony cleaning tape.

Do I need to have it "professionly" cleaned? Does such a service
exist or can I (should I) open it up and try to clean it like a vcr?
