Hello all,

        I need to disable NIS for a short period of time on some
machines and then be able to reinstate it rapidly once the work is
done, in the space of about a week.

        I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to do it
in an easy way without nuking NIS completely. I was thinking of
changing

NIS_CONF="no"

and rebooting, does anyone see any problems with this? Of couse I have
already copied the relevant entries into /etc/passwd and /etc/group over
from the NIS maps.

Ciao,

        Arrigo
