Hello All,
Just a summary of equipment, for completeness:
Machine: DEC Alpha 600
Operating Sys: 3.2D-1
Disk Cntrlr: KZPSA
Disk Types: RZ29-VW (all the way around)
I've done these exact commands on a 250 4/266 with one RZ29-VB and one
RZ29-VW making up the mirror, with no problem. On this machine both
drives are RZ29-VW, both are seen by the kernel, and both can be mounted
if I newfs a partition first. I'm not having a problem seeing them, at
least.
Commands:
voldiskadd rz9
voldiskadd rz18
volassist -g dg2 make vol02 8379552 dg201
volassist -g dg2 mirror vol02 dg202 &
The ERROR that I get:
fsgen/volplex: Volume vol02, plex vol02-02, block 199138: Plex write:
Error: Write failure
fsgen/volplex: Error changing plex vol02-02:
Record not in disk group
fsgen/volplex: Attempting to cleanup after failure ...
volassist: Unable to find the target mirror in vol02
I've never had this problem before and I can't understand why I'm having
it now. I'm creating four disk groups, and the first one is
initializing with no problems. It just finished and I just tried
init'ing the mirror to vol02 again. NOTHING. Same error.
Anybody encounter this before, or have any ideas?
Warren T.
btw... thanks for the responses to my question yesterday about Alpha
Performance Tuning a news machine. (this new one is going to be a news
machine, too... :-)
