Hi managers,
We had the bad idea of starting POLYCENTER Security
Intrusion detector immediately after installing the kit.
After noticing a high level of activity of the id_mond
daemon, we wanted to stop it to better understand the
parameters before restarting it.
Unfortunately, it happens that id_mond doesn't like to
die!
We tried id_mond -k as documented in the man pages. Some
process are stopped but after a while a new id_mond is
in the process table using CPU.
kill -9 of the id_mond PID (as well as of the associated
id_ard process) do not make the job.
Is there any way to kill this family of processes ?
Of course we do not have the POLYCENTER documentation
:-)
thanks for the answers
