Summary:
I asked, if there is a posibillity to print several copies of ione document on a remote printer with a perinter-server card, like HPJetDirect, Lantronix MPS1 or Emulex.
The answers were all the same contents: Because of problems with remote printing protocols and memory of the printers it is not supported to print several copies remotely.
Most of the UN*X OS are not capable of it incuding DigitalUNIX. You have to modify, if possible, the application to do several printjobs. Only using a HP-UX machine, that handles remote-printer differently, you can print several copies.
It might be possible to write a program, that catches the printjob and copies it several times to the printer, but it is not implemented anywhere yet.
