I have asked how to stop the id_mond process since
neither "id_mond -k" nor kill -9 id_mond.pid was
enough.
The solution is simple:
SID creates an entry in the /etc/inittab file to make
init respawning the process if it dies. It is enough
to change the action from respawn into off in the
corresponding line of inittab. After kill -1 1 SID is
definitely stopped.
Thanks to Chua Koon Teck and to Krzysztof Palacz for the
very quick answer!
