i've seen it too, under 3.2 and 3.2C -- but only on one particular
3000/400. so far dec support think it's software but nothing they
suggest works. given that it's only one machine at our site, my
guess it that it's hardware..

The messages are most likely due to either a faulty keyboard cable or a bad
keyboard.

Maybe you should re-install the keyboard subset...

Digital support (John Mundt)

        I found something on the metronome errrors. It revolved around the
LK401 keyboard. Make sure the LK401 is at rev f01 or j01. I found a note
that these two revs of keyboards will fix the metronome problem.


We have replaced the keyboard and now await futher developments...
