Knut recommend to use the move the terminfo files from the originate host & compile them with "tic", Ron suggested that em100 and em220 are really vt100 and vt220 terminal emulations, which is true.
Unfortunely, neither one nor the other suggestions worked fine, we are looking for some info from Informix, as long as the problem is related to an application wriiten for that database.
If you have any hints regarding this issues, i'd appreciate it pretty much.
