I have just finished upgrading sendmail to version 8.7.5. I have a requirement
for some of my users to receive and send mail to/from given domains through
this server. I have been able to setup the ability to receive mail to
a domain that I have setup such as "test.bm" by creating the zone MX
information and adding the line "test.bm" in the sendmail.cw file that
is pointed to in my sendmail.cf file using "Fw-o /etc/sendmail.cw".
This is working perfectly. However, outgoing mail is not working. All of
my customers are POP3/IMAP customers and in this case are setting up
their mail client's return mail addresses to be, for example, "user_at_test.bm".
When the mail is sent through the mail server to a remote system, i.e. not a
local user on the mail server host such as another POP3 customer, the domain
is rewritten as the domain the mail server is sitting in. In this case,
"_at_test.bm" is rewritten as "_at_ibl.bm", when the mail arrives at the remote
mail system.
I have looked at the "DM (Masquerading)" macro, but that does not seem to
apply to what I want to do.
I have also looked at the mailertable stuff, but that also does not seem
to apply to me.
What I need it to do is not rewrite the domain if the domain is acceptable,
or infact not rewrite the domain at all. I can see why this is the way it
is, I guess so that postmasters can tell which domain the mail came from.
If there is a feature like "Fw-o", then I would think that there is an
outgoing mail solution to fill the other side of mail delivery.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Neil :-)
