Reconfigure an entire network

Hello fellow managers,

I have now acquired another problem system. (Everytime there is a problem
with a system, I seem to get the job of correcting the situation!)

I have an OSF/1 v2.0 system which has been incorrectly configured for the
network environment. It's ran this way for quite some time, but is now
going to 'join' the network via a new FDDI card--retaining it's current
Ethernet cards as well. Our network manager and I have noted the
inappropriate addresses and have assigned appropriate ones for the system
and it's assorted devices (printers, workstations, and other network
devices being used solely by this node).

1) Since there is a new device, I know the kernel will need to be re-gen'd.
Not a problem, I have done this before -- several times.

2) The network addresses need to be changed and new interfaces configured
(2nd ethernet and a new FDDI card).

2a) I believe I should be able to do this by editing the following files:

    /etc/hosts
    ?/bootptab
    /etc/rc.config
    /etc/hosts.equiv

2b) and executing /usr/sbin/netsetup

Am I missing anything? Is there an easier method of accomplishing this
reconfiguration?

Is there a way to 'see' how the current network is configured in a concise
reportable format? I would like to be able to compare the 'before' and
'after's....

As always, your assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
