Q: Tape is busy - but really not

Managers,

I was in the middle of a restore when I tried to cntrl-c or
essentially break out of it because I didn't want to finish the restore.
Since I did that, the process is still running in ps and when i do
a #mt status on the tape drive, it tells me that the device is busy.

I tried to kill -KILL the process, log off that shell session,
eject and put the tape back in, #mt offline the device, and perform
another tape command on the tape drive --> all told me that the tape
was busy and I can't kill that process either!

        Any help would be appreciated.
