The solution was this:
1) My HSZ40B's were PROM REV 2.50. They were missing 4 bug fixes on 2.5,
and PROM 2.7 was out. These were upgraded.
2) I was running 3.2C. I upgraded to 3.2D. These were the most immediate
issue.
I got replies from Kurt Carlson, Jari Tavi, and Vipin Gokhale.
The issue was:
Oracle + 8200, under light loads, would cause pciaerror: cpu8: panic.
2 patches for this crash were available from DEC, but the preferred
method of fixing it was to upgrade to 3.2D.
Sorry for being so late in posting this summary, but we only recently
signed off on the fix. For a while it looked like we were going to
replace the IOM and the CPU's, but that didn't happen.
