Hi... This maybe a bit stupid, but I'm having trouble sharing a CD-ROM
via NFS. I mount the cd rom via:
# mount -t cdfs /dev/rz6c /cdrom
which works fine.
I then use nfssetup and tell it to export /cdrom to murray (murray is
defined in /etc/hosts as 10.101.1.23, on our internal network)
>From murray (an SGI Indigo) I can ping and telnet to thira (the alpha)
with no problems, but I can't mount /cdrom. I have never done NFS
before, so I tried to export /tmp using the same method, and I was able
to mount it with no problems from the SGI.
Are there any problems with NFS mounting a CD-ROM? If necessary, I can
copy the files I need from the CD to /tmp on the alpha and then mount
that on the SGI, but I'd rather do it right.
Thanks,
Scott
