I am trying to find information for the best way to setup a POP server on
our Digital Alpha Unix box. We are currently using our BorderWare FireWall
for mail services, but in the future we want to migrate approximately 300
mail users to the Alpha.

We do not however want to create unix account for all mail users, since they
should not all need additional unix services. We also want to allow the
users to change their mail password from the Mail client, such as, Eudora.

I have investigated implementing Pop using the current services provided by
the base Digital Unix installation. this implementation appear to have a
large maintenance overhead.

I am currently investigating installing alternative POP services e.g. POPPER
or POP3D. I am having difficulty with these because of lack of documentation

Could someone please advise me on the best way to setup a POP server on our
Digital UNIX system.
