Hello,
Last weekend during a thunderstorm the power supply of one of our Alpha
3000/600 got fried out. After replacing the part, the machine runs all
diagnostics with "OK" results, however it won't boot ("84 fail"). The disks and
all peripherials are all recognized at the boot prompt, however I can imagine,
that something with the boot info is wrong due to the shock treatment of the
system during the power surge. What worries me a bit is, that the machine
starts beeping about 10 to 15 times for no apparent reason when powered on.
Has anyone encountered these beeps and found out, what they try to tell? Any
info greatly appreciated...
TIA
